New to Hockey - Learn to Skate or Learn to Play

Are you interested in introducing your child to skating and the sport of ice hockey?  If so, either the Learn to Skate (LTS) or Learn To Play (LTP) program is ideal.

LTS program
The LTS program has two sessions.  Each session runs about 10 weeks with a 1 hour practice session per week. Practices do vary and some will likely be on Saturday morngings. Once the schedule is available you may access it on the website (see the link below). Skates and a hockey or bike helmet is all that is needed.  Click here for more information about Learn to Skate.

Session 1 (Oct/Nov/Dec)is now open for registration.  Session 2 (Jan/Feb/Mar) will open for registration towards the completion of Session 1.

LTP program
Children continue the fundamentals of skating with added hockey skills and scrimmages during practice. Full hockey equipment is required.  There is one, 1 hour practice per week.

All WYHA programs

Schedule, LTS & LTP:  Once the schedule is set you will be able to access it from the website ( schedule page ).

A USA hockey registration number is required, which is free for kids 6 or under, as of Dec. 31.  If your child is over 6 years of age and you are registering for LTS please contact our registrar prior to registration to see about possibly waiving the USA hockey fee.  The USA hockey fee is required for all other levels.   Registration is open  now for the LTS (session 1) and the LTP program! Once the season starts there will be an opportunity to move your skater from LTS to LTP or to U6 or U8 (they must be the correct birth year for U6 and U8).  You should talk to one of the coaches at the LTS or LTP level about doing this.

2016/2017 Concession Sign Up

Sign up for this season's 2016/2017 concessions time slots on Volunteerspot (see instructions below). It is important to remember that the concession stand is a significant fundraiser for Wildcat Youth Hockey and will help offset other costs and the potential need to raise skater fees in the future. If the time slots assigned to Wildcat Youth Hockey go unfilled, or we have people that do not show up for their shift, the club will be charged a fee by the rink. This not only reduces our take on concessions, but negatively impacts everyone's experience at the rink. We are encouraging all families to follow the instructions below to sign up for times that you want to work.

Concession stand sign up is now OPEN.   The process is:
